Remanufacturing

Remanufacturing is the process of returning a worn or damaged engine to its original specification. After remanufacturing, you can expect your engine to have a reliability, performance and lifetime similar to when it was new – and a warranty to match.

We specialise in the remanufacture of diesel engines, and our expertise is backed up by membership of the UK-wide Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers; we are one of only eight members in Scotland.

FER members are bound by the British Standard Code of Practice AU 257:2002 for the remanufacture of spark and compression ignition engines, giving you the assurance of absolutely top-quality machining and rebuilding.

When you get a remanufactured engine back from us – spotlessly clean – certain key components will always be new, including piston assemblies, bearings, gaskets and seals, drive belts and timing chains, and fuel injection equipment. But all other parts are carefully inspected too, and replaced if necessary.

After the engine is thoroughly cleaned, it is fully tested to the manufacturer’s original tolerances and clearances. Important checks include crack testing and pressure testing. When everything is complete, the engine is given a new serial number.
